Running Windows 7 with media center.

When I put the computer to sleep or it goes to sleep on its own (after 30 minutes of inactivity) the machine often wakes up on its own, say in the middle of the night, and freezes.

Then I power off, but when I turn the power back on it's as if the computer has been hibernating, not actually powering off because it comes back to the same setup I had before I powered off.

I checked the power setting and it's set to power off, not hibernate.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to remedy this?
