freezing problems

Hey everybody
Before i got the freezing problem, i had some BSOD problems.
I realized that it was coming from a corrupt dll. from my avg antivirus.
BSOD showed: a fatal exception OE has occurred at 0028:col36421 in VXD AVG7rs(01) + 00002745 the current app will be terminated.
So i repaired my antivirus and later uninstalled it, which solved the crashing, but now i got this new problem.
Everytime if i leave my computer idle or if i use it too long, my computer would freeze (can't move the mouse, complete computer freeze).

don't need to be running in the background. Uncheck them in the startup list.

ScanRegistry should be running in the background. Check it in the startup list. If it's missing, read the sticky on how to get it back.

Have you considered that none of your software may be at fault. I have seen this problem and fixed it before, when the inside of the computer is dirty. When fans are dirty and chips are dusty. Excessive heat can cause the very problem you are experiencing. Unfortunately, if heat has caused some chip to operate radically, the damage cannot always be undone. However, a thorough cleaning is a good first step. Use cotton swabs made moist with rubbing alcohol and clean the dust and dirt away. It's necessary to ground the chasis of the computer to a good ground so that you do not have a static electricity charge destroying some inner component. ( You should open the computer on a cement, wood or tile floor and avoid a plush rug.) A cleaning is often a successful solution to this kind of problem. A utility like Motherboard Monitor can give you temperatures of components on the motherboard, but I can't give specific details of everything it does, as it's been many years since I have had to use this utility.
