My wife's computer run WINDOWS 98, 64MEGS RAM and not overloaded with programs. It has the power saver enabled that "puts her monitor to sleep" after a while. Sometimes in the midst of writing e-mail her machine will lost connection. Sometimes it freezes up and she has to hit the main power switch. She is NOT on AOL, but a local ISP. They do not have a timeout on their ISP. Could these problems be related to the power management?

Thanks, in advance.

Sounds more like temporary internet files, temp files clogging up your hard drive. Clean out these area, run defrag and reboot. Also, look to see how much disk space you have available.
