    Hi guys,
A friend of mine running Win 98, started the pc this morning and it goes as far as the windows logo and freezes. He tried safe mode, but it still wont work.
    Any suggestions?

Was any software or hardware added or changed? If nothing has been changed, open up the case and reseat all cables, power cables, CPU, and ram. [And give it a good cleaning with a can of compressed air] If that does not work remove everything except the video card, primary hd, and one ram chip [usually does not matter, however put the one ram chip in the first bank] If you have an older mb that requires matched pairs of ram chips, then put in one pair. See if you can boot in this manner.
Are you able to enter the bios? If so make sure your bios settings have not changed. Were you having any problems prior to this like clock not keeping time, incorrect date on the computer?
