Hey everybody, I'm new here and fairly new to computer sciences, which is why I need some expert advice on this problem that seems infuriatingly simple but VERY debilitating to my computer. I recently installed 2 more gigs of ram to my old custom unit and now whenever i play a game or watch a movie the audio has a bunch of skips and beeps and static. I can still hear the audio of the game or movie but the interference almost drowns it out. Any help would be much appreciated, and go easy, I'm a n00b.

If the machine is old the most likely problem is the onboard audio has failed. If you discover this to be the problem just install a PCI audio card and you should be good to go.
