hi i bought fsx and managed to succesfully install it. then it stopped working. so i tried re-installing it, and i now get the 1722 error that everyone else seems to get. Having searched a few forums for help, a lot of them explain a "fix" for it that involves opening the command prompt (start, run, "cmd"). here lies my next problem! when i try to open the command prompt i get a ntvdm error "c:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.com The NTVDM CPU has encountered and illegal instruction. CS:0f4b IP:0109 OP:32 02 01 5a 5e Choose 'Close' to terminate the application. So, what i need advice on is, firstly how to fix fsx so it will install but, bearing in mind if the fix involves using the command prompt, can we concentrate on getting that sorted first!??

hope that all makes sense. any help whatsoever would be greatly appreciated!!

thanks in advance

rich.

ps im running with windows xp home edition.
