Games running slow!

    Well i am using dual core proc., 2 GB RAM, enough free hard disk space,Nvidia 8800 GS alpha dog graphic card,.
    still games like call of duty 5 world at war are running slow.
    Earlier no such problem was there as i have played Gears of war, Crysis and Call of duty 4 like games earlier with same graphic card running smoothly.
    plz help.

    Is the grpahics card fully pushed in to its socket?

    Please indicate what resolution you're running at, what quality settings you're using in these games, and which dual-core processor you have (this matters, some are better than others).

    For example, If you have a Pentium D and you're trying to play maxed out settings at 2560 x 1600 resolution, you're not going to get good framerates.

    i have run the game in min graphic properties, still running slow.
    earlier i had no such prob in running games.
    my dual core proc. is of 2.8 G hz

    Just using it as an example. That's typically the max resolution of most modern video cards.

    fair enough, although if u have that money to spare on a machine that will play that, then go and spend it on other things. I'm very afraid to use the term "get a life"
