Not sure if this belongs in gaming or elsewhere, but I'll try here for starters....
When playing a game [especially in full-screen mode], on occasion another process will jump in and take over (such as my iTouch keyboard wanting to look for software updates for itself on the internet -- most recent example), booting the game either down to a minimized window back at the desktop, or sometimes completely exiting the game.
What can I do to stop this from occurring?

close all uneccessary programs that are running in the backround. Also disable the startup programs which are not necessary. If you have used HighJackThis before, post a log here and I can advise you on what startup options you don't need. Also we can check to see if you have any spyware lurking.

It's always a good idea to set programs that can check for newer versions to 'check manually'. That way, you can decide when to check, and not have auto checks interrupting your work (or play) at inconvenient times. It's normally in the preferences or options section.

Do you know what ConsumerInput is?

Also I don't see the entry that I usually see...

You might want to go into START > RUN > type msconfig. Then go to the Startup tab and deselect the following:

    C:\PROGRA~1\Logitech\iTouch\iTouch.exe
    C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesHelper.exe
    C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime
    [Logitech Utility] Logi_MwX.Exe
    [msnappau] "C:\Program Files\MSN Apps\Updater\01.02.3000.1001\en-us\msnappau.exe"
    [TkBellExe] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe" -osboot

I believe ConsumerInput is related to one of the market research/survey sites that I belong to.
I will try the other instructions. Thanks.
