gaming performance tweaks?

if anyone has any legit tweaks for multiplayer fps games..such as counter-strike 1.6 please let me know. also if there are any programs that tweak internet specs to make games run smoother and better, please let me know of them and what specs I should set. thanks!

what r your comp specs. eliminate any programs you have running in the background.

i do that to most of my programs, but I have:
OS: Windows Vista Home Premium (32-bit)
Computer Model: GATEWAY GT5408
Mouse: Logitech Mx518
Monitor: Gateway 19" LCD
Keyboard: Gateway
Videocard: Really bad Intel, not sure what it is.
Internet: 100 mb/s

thank you guys for your support, but I havnt been able to use anything yet. i'm mainly looking for internet tweaks, so my ping is lower and I regiseter better. i apreciate your support though!

vista eats a lot of ram . so, 2 gigs is pretty much a must for gaming and actually just to make your computer run decently with vista.
you should be able to get a decent pci x vid card for under a 100 bucks.
as far as internet tweaks. other than disabling background programs don't think there's much u can do.
