I am using a cable modem and I am having problems connecting at 100Mbps. My network card is Realtek RTL8139/810X Family Fast Ethernet NIC. I am now using a router however I had this problem prior. When I set up my network card it keeps on defaulting to using a gateway that only transfers at 3.2Mbps. I have tried to uninstall/reinstall the card and set up my network as each PC connecting directly to the internet via HUB. When I get that setup complete it doesn't connect and after a few tries my computer sets up the gateway. Prior to using the router I tested my speed (circuitcity.com) and it reports about 450-500K Kbps. I disconnected my computer and connected my roomates computer to the same connection and he is getting reports in upwards of 3500 Kbps. I have a newer computer with a faster PCU and much more RAM. I'm at a loss.

I hope I didn't post copies of this thread as I encountered an error with the first submit attempt.

    Thanks,
    Nate
