    Good question and good answer
I personally have my speakers on medium so when I turn on pc it doesnt give me a loud CLICK when the juice flows thru em ;)

From the Volume Controls I set the master almost to the top and the others accordingly.
My CD volume is alot louder then my wave output and I dont really care on listening to MIDI sounds to loud.

    :D Hope this helps a bit :D
