I was wondering if anyone could help, I keep getting a Generic Host Process for Win32 Services Error (see pictures) Once that happens the start manu switches quickly back to the old style then back to XP style quickly (I presume as the proccess is being shut down) then the internet stops working. (connection goes idle) The timing of the error changes.. sometimes it happens 2 mins after booting up.. sometimes 30.. sometimes it doesnt happen for the whole day
(it has been happening on and off for about a week now)

I am running XP Home with SP1 (cant stay online long enough to download SP2!!!)

Thank you in advance for any help you can give.

Remove the following processes from your system. (make sure you don't get rid of the ones that refer to svChost (with the "C").) These are related to the MyDoom virus. After you remove these, update your AV programs and runn a FULL scan on your system. Then do a search for the file svhost.exe and remove it if it is still on your HDD. Then reboot, and you should be OK.
