Has anybody here ever setup Gentoo linux? If so, could you walk me through it? I'm not really sure how I'm supposed to do it.

Did you read the installation docs on the Gentoo site already?

Yes, and I'm not exactly following it, I'm trying to set it up the "VMWare" way.

Well, installing it in a VMware machine isn't really any different than a regular install.
The drivers will be vmware simulated devices and don't count on getting 3D working either.

Any more specific questions you have?

Well, how do I start the installation then?

Boot off the Gentoo LiveCD and use either the graphical or text based installer. :p

The key is to hit F2 when the virtual machine starts and change the boot order.
