I bought my pc from a guy who built it. I found it on Craig's list. He has it it in a home group and I don't have permission to leave it. He somehow still has control over my computer. I have no way of contacting him. How do I get control over my computer. Everything I try I don't have permission or authority to do. I am supposedly the administrator but he somehow has more control than me. What do I do?

Reformatting the hard drive will put the computer in the same condition it was in the day it was shipped from the factory, which will solve your problem. Or you could go deeper and wipe it clean with 3 wipes of wiping software which is what the Department of Defense does when they get rid of computers. There is free wiping software available, but I have no experience with them. I know 1 is called Derricks Boot and Nook (DBAN) and I've heard good things about it. I personally use paid versions: Wipe Drive and Acronis True Image 11. Just be sure you have all the software for the operating system and all the discs for the programs that are in your computer and be sure to backup all your files before reformatting or wiping your computer because reformatting and wiping your drive will delete everything.

ROGUEMARLIN, I'm sorry that I did not see the part about not being able to contact the seller. Something else you can try is open your documents library then right click on Homegroup in the Navigation pane on the left then click on Change Homegroup settings. Then click on Leave the Homegroup which is 3rd from the bottom. Sorry I didn't think of this in the first place.
