    Hi

I'm trying to get my dad's files off his old Amstrad PC1512 DD to his new PC. I thought I had it cracked - I have Laplink Pro & a serial cable which should allow me to initiate a connection from the new PC. This doesn't seem to work although I'm not totally convinced the com port on the 1512 is a standard one.
    Any other IDEAS??

Pull the hard drive...hook it up as slave to his new PC and move the files you want to move.

Does it have a hard drive? Or are you working with 5 1/4 floppy drives?

    Thanks for the reply -
It has got a hard disk but it's not IDE, it's on it's own board and slots in. It has got 2 * 51/4 drives - I thought about putting a 3.5 standard drive in but apparently it won't accept these.
