I recently had to repair my computer and just about every component was upgraded: CPU, GPU, Mobo, RAM, Hard Drive, and PSU. I have my old hard drive with not one but TWO copies of XP on there; one a fresh install and the original (no service packs) where all of my personal documents and files are.

Currently, I'm installing XP SP2 on my new, blank hard drive. Is it still possible to use the old HD as an external HD and just pull things from it or will that be a problem with the OSs on there?

It shouldn't be problem, you should be able to use it as an external drive or as a secondary internal drive.

If you get an access denied message when trying to get at your Documents and Settings folders/files then read here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308421
