I've been out of the pc loop for almost 3 years now. Meaning I haven't done much other than run the occasional virus scan for the past 3 years or so. My husband however comes on the pc for email purposes once in a while. My pc is getting slow and "sticky" for a lack of a better word.
I would like to get myself back up to date and have a good through cleaning.
What is the most recommended free virus software to use these days? As well as any malware cleaners or anything else I might need to achieve a good cleaning? Of course I will be asking for help on the cleaning from this site. I'm just trying to get myself up to date and backed up before jumping into the ring on the HJT forum.
I currently run Avira.....should be up to date.
hijackthis... who knows how old that version is
Malware bytes anti malware..... again who knows how old
atf cleaner ... once again installed a very long time ago
I also have crucial scan that I believe was used once before when being helped on a similar site.
