I bought Norton Ghost 2002 at a computer show. I bought it hoping I coud clone my 15gig hd (6gigs occupied) to CDRW so that if the hd went south...I could get another 15gig drive...restore from the cd clone..and be back in business without having to mess with all the software settings. questions:

    1. Will Ghost 2k2 do this?
    2. What would be the steps?

You should be able to. It might take several cd's even with max compression. I don't have it in front of me at the moment so this is from memory and some options you may not have if you don't have multiple partitions and/or multiple disks.
You would boot with the Ghost boot disk that allows access to cdrw's (I think most common ones are supported) and choose Either Disk to Image or Partition to Image. You may be asked which disk and then which partition you want to copy from and then you need to choose where to want to place the image (in this case, your cdrw).

Sorry I was so vague. I would suggest you test it first. If you're able to burn the images to the cd then I wouldn't see any reason why you wouldn't be able to copy them back to a new drive if need be.

Daniel, all instructions are not the same. Here is a list of instructions and they varrie in procedure. But they are better (easier) reading than the manual.
