Honestly I have to agree with Zeddy and the review, NForce4 motherboards are the way to go for the AMD 64. Feature and performance packed they beat the VIA offerings hands down.

And as far as I know there are no AMD motherboards that support DDR2 and it doesn't hurt them in the least.

I saw on that page that it does indeed say it supports DDR but then scroll down and it says DDR2. Must have been a typo. DDR2 is in the near future though for AMD.

A while back AMD said it had no plans to ever use DDR2. They said they might skip it altogether for the next generation memory; DDR3 or whatever comes next. DDR in dual channel provides enough bandwidth as it is for AMD and without the high latencies of DDR2.

The Gigabyte board is better then the BIOSTAR board. Firstly Gigabyte makes better motherboards then BIOSTAR and its also an NForce4 SLI capable motherboard which is beneficial to gamers.
