According to google my gmail account was hacked, supposedly 7 people, they want $185 to repair. They said the broke into my IP and have control of my phone, i have tried recovery but never receive verification code. Is there any way to fix this, I don't have the $185 dollars, just had big car repair

Hello.

The first thing you must consider to do is change all your passwords (email accounts, rooter, wi-fi etc.) and contact the Authorities.

Here, we can check your computer for malware. However, if you are sure that you have been hacked, the best for you is to perform a clean re-install of your operating system.

Let me know about what you think.

i have tried downloading malware programs, never downloads, funny thing is the google stuff is all it seems to affect, all other stuff works. Part of me feels it is the big tech google making money. It is only on my phone that i know of. Will a new phone solve that, google said it was the IP, if i get a new phone that should solve that, right? it has not affected my wife's email

Well, I already told you what I would do.

If you think all happened through your phone, then reset it to factory settings. Before, change email/accounts passwords from a healthy device and contact the Authorities.

If you want to check your computer for malware, please do the following:

Download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop. --> IMPORTANT

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them. Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.

If your antivirus software detects the tool as malicious, it’s safe to allow FRST to run. It is a false-positive detection.

If English is not your primary language, right click on FRST.exe/FRST64.exe and rename to FRSTEnglish.exe/FRST64English.exe

  • Double-click the FRST icon to run the tool. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Press Scan button and wait for a while.
  • The scanner will produced two logs on your Desktop: FRST.txt and Addition.txt.
  • Please copy and paste the content of these two logs in your next reply (or attach/upload).

If you think that the problem is solved, I will mark this topic as solved.

Please let me know.
