My Gmail account is accessible as normal from my Android phone but has stopped working on my Windows PC. I have had the account for several years and it has always been accessible from my PC. As far as I am aware nothing has fundamentally changed on the PC, I am using the same Browser, AV software and have not changed any settings recently.

The problem started on Friday. On my PC when I login to my Gmail account the Inbox is displayed as normal. However, when I click on an email I receive the following error message....

"Something is not right. We're having trouble connecting to Google. We'll keep trying".

The message seems rather strange, because Gmail would have had to connect to Google to display the Inbox because what is displayed in the Inbox are the current and most recent emails.

    Any ideas..?

    Thanks

Try clearing out the cache: Hold CTRL+SHIFT and press DELETE. Choose the following:

    James, thanks for your suggestion.

Are you using CTRL+SHIFT and press DELETE at the Windows level or at the Gmail level. In W10 CTRL+SHIFT and press DELETE does nothing.

I'm sorry I didn't clarify, do the shortcut in the browser. It's the same shortcut for all browsers and you didn't specify which one. The screenshot is from Google Chrome, which I would recommend for all Google applications.

Apologies in the delay in replying and thank you for help.

I eventually got Google to admit that is was a bug introduced in an update. Something to do with Hangouts - which I have never used - and the upgrade from Chats. A further update fixed the problem, but Google are never in a hurry to fix things are they.
