I am trying to work with Gmail. I have numerous email folders in Outlook Express that I sort my important emails in. How can I import them into Gmail. I'm not getting any support from Gmail at all.http://images.techguy.org/smilies/confused.gif

do you want to just use Gmail
so a mail received by gmail will be automatically assigned to a folder - like an outlook express rule

is so just use the gmail filer option and you can labell the email
    works just like outlook express

However, if you want the mail you already have in outlook express to go to gmail - not sure what you mean

How I use folders in Outlook Express.

When an email is important to keep, I create a folder to put it in. I may later go back and delete that folder but for now the info needs keeping. I can easily go to my folders to get that message at any time because the folders are in view to the left in Outlook Express. That's what I'm trying to create in Gmail. Hopefully at some point I'd like to only use Gmail as my email provider, but it's going to take time to get used to it.

works the same as labels - instead of folders

    creat a label
it should appear on lefthand side
on the email clcik on actions - in the dropdown you see the label - click on the label
that email now has been tagged with the label

    click on archive
now the email is in the label (folder ) on the left - only and not in the inbox as well

if you want to automatically send an email to a label you can do this in filters - i have email on arrive labeled and put into various label (folders) so they are pre sorted for me
