Hi, I'm not exactly sure if its an XP problem but its bothering me a lot. For some reason I cant connect to the internet with my pc. A few days ago i restarted my pc and then it couldnt connect at all. I'm on a lan and use a D-link router to share the dsl in my house. I know it connects because I'm on my mum's pc at the moment and my brother can go online as well but its just my pc that cant go online. I can connect to the network and check its status but I cant seem to check my brothers shared folders or go online at all !! Please someone, does anyone have any idea what to do?

Do this:

Start > run > cmd >

then type:
ipconfig /all

Post that information here.

Are you ona wireless LAN? and have you installed any IP changing/switching/spoofing software? And do you have some anti virus program? And why DID you restart the computer?

The NIC or cable might be bad. If possible try a different cable or Network Interface Card. Since you have mulitple computers in the house, just pull the nic out of one of those pc's and try it in your computer.
