going to sleep !!!!!!!!!!

can any one help here pleae ? freind had a new hard drive installed on her hp- - - not sure of model number she was given instalation discs etc she has done all the stuff to install when the pc reboots for the first time she gets a message on screen saying going to sleep no chance to do any thing no desktop or task bar etc could this be a bios problem ? advise welcome here

it dosnt get as far as safe mode option dont get the chance to do any thing it says its going to sleep cant ba a virus i dont think as its never been on the net yet

Seems to be in sleep mode here.

Could also be possible that the Video card is slightly unseated or the monitor. You could also remove the cmos battery for about 3 to 4 minutes to clear the cmos then replace it and try.

Also verify the hard drive is Jumpered properly (master / slave)
