Can anyone suggest to me good quality spam and ad blockers? I want a spam blocker that's easy to setup and ad blockers that block most ads, as some ad stoppers I have had have actually stopped me from opening those little windows that are needed for some sites I visit. Thanks.

You should be able to find pretty much anything you should require here :

I have not used a Spam Blocker - but to block ads I have found Free Surfer to be most effective (it has different levels of resopnsiveness but can be configured to avoid your particular problem of new windows not opening.)

Alternatively perhaps consider trying a different browser to IE - namely http://www.avantbrowser.com

It has many useful features incl. popup stopping, can be used as default or instead of IE - you choose each time. Its a small download and doesn't use up a lot of memory.

Also - are you running a Firewall - as many of these if set up properly will block a fair number of popups - and of course protect your pc from the many more harmful things you can encounter on the net :

Opera allows you to disable pop-ups, amongst other things.

when you are at a site that you want a popup and your ad-blocking software is blocking it, all programs i have seen enable you to hold the ctrl key and then click, allowing the popup.

How do you disable pop ups in Opera? I am running 7.03
Found it under quick preferences. What a great (several)option.
