    - I'm looking for a visual aid in how to take out a harddrive. I've tried online but came up short.

    - There's a metal brace, with 2 screws, that is holding the HD in place and once I took the screws out, it would not come out.

    - I'm also asking if there is anything I should unplug before taking it out.

    - If anyone could be of service or lead me in a good direction, I'd appreciate it...Thanks :)

The HD is secured from both sides. It sounds like your drive is in a large bay and has the adaptor rails attached to it to make the mechanical connection to the bay's frame.

You will have to remove the opposite side of the case to access the screws to totally release the drive rails.
