Hi everyone, right, I had a website built for me which was done well and was registered on google for me aswell. Since it was built i have learnt alot more about websites and have modified the meta description and tags to be more useful for getting picked up be search engines. However i have noticed with the google search it is still picking up the old meta description and tags so no improvement has been noticed yet. How long does it take for google to pick up my new tags or/and do i have to re-register with them to pick up the new meta's?

You don't need to re-register the website. Google will eventually come around, the time it takes depends on how often you update your website.

The meta tags will most likely not affect your ranking, but it may be useful for people to read when they see your website in the results.

I also suggest checking out the Google Webmaster Tools as they can give you great info about Google's view of your site. :)

    Peace...
