Anyone else having this problem. I have superfast Wireless Cable Intenet and while the Google Homepage comes up from a clear desktop, when I try to search it just spins and spins and spins. Other sites don't seem to be affected. This is on Firefox 18 with Windows XP.

IE 8 is faster. Firefox 18 shows about a 15 second lag between search queries. Note that today Google has some Ferris Wheel Animated Logo. Because Forefox 18 is more advanced than IE 8, the logo is animated in Firefox, but not in IE. I wonder if this could be a reason for the lag time?

Google has dropped support for IE8 since November 15. That may be why you can't see the animation in IE8, but can in Firefox. Google is not lagging for me in Firefox.

Try Google while running Firefox without any add-ons.
