I installed the Google Toolbar on my brand new XP SP1, IE6.0.
Soon after, I could no longer launch an instance of IE from its native (MS supplied) icon, only form a shrotcut I create to a specific site. I suspect a register entry got corrupted. Does know a solution to this

I wish it was that easy. That's the first thing I did. It did not help. Did anyone experienced same problem and actually found a solution?

    Try re-installing the Google Toolbar.

I just found out the problem. It was not the Google Toolbar. It was eFax`s Live menu. Solution is: open eFax Messenger, click on 'Send','eFax Messenger Plus Options','Live Menu Settings'. In the 'Show Menu' window of the pop up dialog, select 'Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0.5.0' then hit the '<-Hide' button to transfer this entry to the 'Hide menu'. Hit 'OK'. This should solve the problem.
