I have an issue which i need to overcome, I was given a hard drive to recover the data. In the first instances i thought should be straight forward but then this has proved very difficult.

The hard drive has come out from a windows 2003 server with no raid disks. when i plug the hard drive into my desktop the hard drive is recongised but not accessible does not show in my computer. when i go into disk management, a message come up with to initialize disk 6 and gives an options of MBR and GPT. even if i choose either i drive is still not accessible.

The overall aim to to recover the data from the hard drive whether to use certail utilities or im willing to download whatever necessary.

    Please help.
