Well im guessing this belongs in this forum since it only seems to happen while i play Computer games, and never any other time

Basically what happends is out of no where my whole screen turns into a million colors and im forced to restart (or it does it for me)

My specs are

Amd xp 3000+
1 gig PC 3200 ram (2x 512's)
400w psu
windows xp
Geforce 6800GT OC 256 meg

(edit: i was going to post a pic of what it looked like but this site wont let me link anything, but anyway it looks kinda like a checkerboard of a thousand colors, and like a thousand blocks too, really small blocks of color everywhere)

i originally thought it might be lack pf PSU power because i had a no-name 400W that came with the case and those arent too quality, so then i took a friends 420W alienware good PSU and compared readings on the side of the PSU and this one supplied much better power and i wasnt splitting the molex connectors for power like me old one, plus this psu weighed alot more and had more cables

anyway that wasnt the problem beacause it still happened

so then maybe its the game right? perhaps i installed it wrong..so i uninstalled it and completley reinstaled and it did it again (by the way this is happening on Dark Age Of camelot, its happened on other games a couple times but this more so it seems)

then i thought it might be my drivers, so i uninstalled my geforce drivers, the brand new ones that came out recently, ran disk cleaner pro and reinstalled a older set and i still get the problem

i cant run memtest86 because i dont have a floppy so dont suggest that plz o_O

i have no idea what the problem could be, but any help would be greatly appreciated

hmm, I know your card should handle it, but my gut says it's video..
I had a 266 PC with onboard graphics, and it would do exacly what you describe..
It wouldn't auto reboot, but that could be an XP thing.

It was allways with real heavy graphics, a game, a web site with tons of images..

Bad card? Some times it happens.. Can you borrow your friends? It's alot of work but could be it..

Just guessing, so If you wana try, that's up to you.

It's only a guess.. Though it seems the most logical..

You could try moving this to "Hardware" and see if any one can suggest different.
