Is the PC actually booting (do you hear the single "beep"?)
Does the keyboard altenately turn the Caps Lock light on and off each time the Caps key is pressed? If not, the problem is the PC not booting.

What are the PC specs, is your Power Supply capable of supplying the extra?

Have you made sure the card is completely pushed right into the slot? They can be right buggers sometimes.

It boots up i am sure, the lights flash normally on the keyboard and there is the lovely "beep" and i am sure it is plugged in properly.

My PSU says on it "Combined Max 280W, Total output max 300W" and the box for the card says the minimum is 250W so it has enough power.

    Any other ideas guys?

hey buddy are u sure that GPU should go in a PCI slot
Geforce 5500 FX i recon wants to be in a AGP slot of PCIe if that is possable
AGP slot should be above the PCI slots and about 2 1/2" from the back of the comp
