GS, GT, GTS, GTX, Ultra (GS is bottom of range, Ultra the top end):

The GT is alot faster and cheaper than the GTS. Well worth the money. But if you can i would wait a few days, on the 15th the ati HD 3800 comes out and it may preform very well and they said its going to be around $150-250 if i remember right on toms hardware. Could be a good buy.

    Fantastic, cheers mate.
I knew there had to be some ordering.

I read the toms hardware review of the 8800 gt, it sounds like a great card.
I had a GF3 Ti200 at one stage, long time ago.

This seems like a great price

but they don't (not certain of this) ship to Ireland.

Does anyone on this form live in Europe? where is the cheapest place to buy a 8800 GT?
And are they all the same? so many companies making the same card.

well in tests it preforms close to the GTX not overclocked, and there is room for that. It by far out preforms the GTS...

I read other forums about the 8800 GT, its almost the same as 8800 GTS, but the GT ones are energy efficient and the GTS is soo hungry to eat alot of power.

although apparently the gt needs its fans worked on...they do run hotter than gts...

After a full hour of playing Crysis in DX10 mode things got a bit toasty for the 8800GT. While the temperatures it displayed were above that of an 8800GTS 320MB we have to take into account that the GTS is cooled by a giant of a heatsink which dwarfs that of the 8800GT. While we will go into overclocking a little later, I would suggest finding another heatsink if you want to try any large overclocks with the GT.
