graphics card

    i have an e sytems ei314 computer and when i tried to intstall a nividia geforce 8500gt graphics card i got an error message saying 'the nvidia setup could not locate any drivers tha are compatible with your curent hardware' can anyone please help me??

    What are you upgrading from? Did the orignal emachine have just integrated graphics, i.e. attached to the motherboard?

    I ask as upgrading the graphics card will often fairly significantly increase the power requirements of the system. As most PC manufacturers only put a power supply in that is just enough to power the bits it is shipped with, you may find you have power problems, or could kill you PSU by over stressing it over time, this in turn could damage other PC components if/when it goes.
