I've been having display issues with my new pc. Since my monintor doesnt have displayport i bought an hdmi-displayport cable and it worked fine until a flashing green screen would interrupt the display intermittently and then dissapear if i adjusted the cable a bit. Later when i either touched the cable my samsung monitor would continuously search for a connection and turn black (it switches from hdmi to analog). this keeps happening when i turn it on or off, or put it to sleep, or when the cable is moved. and It can only work with luck if I connect it in the second port of the graphics card, or if i just connect and disconnect the cable from the monitor.
the green screen doesnt have any message

Im not sure if this is fixable, (is it the cable? the monitor? compatibility issues?) im willing to buy a new monitor with a displayport to fix this but i dont want to spend the money if this is something that can be fixed.
I dont know much about computers so begginer friendly language would be super appreciated:)!
