When working on the inside of your tower and you don't want any power but do want to have it grounded. One suggestion {tip} on keeping your pute grounded with power off.is to have a spare power cord with the power prongs cut off leaving the ground prong to plug into the wall outlet. Wrap the area where you cut the two prongs with electrical tape for safety. Now you have a NO POWER but GROUNDED cord. Takes a second to switch the cords. Of course this is only
good for the 3 prong grounded electrical system but not for the older 2 prong system.

I'm sure many of you have done this but some may not have given it any thought,so thought I would post it.

If your PS has a switch on it you can just turn it off there any you will not not get power to the PC but your be grounded.
No need to cut any cords.

But this is only for PC's that have the on and off switch in the back on the PS.
