I need some assistance with a my documents redirect problem. I applied the policy to an OU and everyone within the OU redirects to a network locations. However, one of the users in this OU also uses a remote PC. That remote PC will attempt to sychronize with the server, which we dont want. Is there a way to disable synchronization on the remote computer when this user logs in?

Is this a User configuration policy or a computer policy (I want to bet its User specific). If it is a User configuration GPO either he can be redirected or can't be you can't have him redirect only on certain PC's.

I.E. user configuration GPO's apply to users and not computers and computer configuration GPO's only apply to computers and not users.

Theres really no way around it.

I would probably do something like remove him from the OU to his own OU and setup syncronization of his My Documents to the server for backup purposes.

Create an OU for remote users and assign a policy for them and specify that the users "my document" folder is not a part of their profile. This is part of the user configuration.

Create another OU for remote users with seperate accounts and plop them into that OU. YOu can then configure them with their own GPO apart from the one for locally logged on users. Like ST said, the downloading of user profiles over the network is part of the user configuration, not the computer configuration.
