If you wanted separate contact lists, would you add a new *group* or create an additional Contacts folder? I have always done this with additional contacts folders, and I could still do that EXCEPT that when I sync with iPhone, even though I can see all my folders (in what they call groups)on the iPhone, the General Contacts meshes everything together. If a contact is in my General Contacts and in my additional contact folder, then that contact shows up in the iPhone twice. I have spoken with iPhone tech support, and they don't seem to know what's going on, so I need a work-around.

I was just wondering if using Groups instead of Contacts folders might help. Then, that brings another question, that I am encountering as I try to do Groups. In my Outlook 2007, I can "add new group" (it simply gives me a space to name it). But then I can do nothing with that group. Double-clicking does nothing, and right-clicking simply gives me choices to delete, rename, or create another group.

Any thoughts on any/all of this multi-faceted question?
    Thanks,
    Barbara

Thanks, you have confirmed what I was beginning to suspect--that I lost some functionality when I got rid of the Business Contact Manager part of Outlook. Some of it was bugging me. That's the way I do things. Sigh.

    Thanks.

    Hi bkford

When you say "Groups" is this also "Distribution Lists" that you are referring to?

I cannot help with the IPhone part but if you are not speaking of Distribution Lists those can be created within the Address Book by using:
File > New Entry > New Distribution List
and choosing the Contacts folder where you want the Distribution List created.
