Not only that I can no longer enlarge the font in an email so that it is massive. I need to do this for a friend who can barely see. I used to be able to click on the A next to the B(old) button on the ribbon above but now I can only make the font twice as big instead of 8 times. I've set it on Huge but TB's version of huge and mine are very different.
Can anyone suggest how I can enlarge these emails to a massive font?
In addition the font I liked to use, Bookman Old Style, has now be disabled.
Help please!
As an addition to my post above. Now when I compose an email in the font box just above the blank mail it says Sans Serif (name of font) not installed. How can I set it to my favourite without getting this message?
the blurb from the thunderbird site:
According to the TB 45.0 Release Notes, this feature is now available natively in the Compose Menu, without the need of any add-on: "Add dropdown in compose to allow specific setting of font size".
this is the drop down menu when you are writing a new message or replying
true, the largest option is set at huge, as seen above in the image. the only solution would appear to be a download of the earlier version that allowed for a massive font size.
Select an earlier version of Thunderbird from the list shown in the link below. This will give you back the features that were easier to use for composing emails. http://filehippo.com/download_thunderbird/history/
After all the trouble I went to downloading a previous version of TB my friend, who doesn't have TB, decided she was still able to enlarge the font on her iPad and would prefer to do it herself. Another Grrr moment! So I went back to the TB updated version but at least if I go back to read any of my sent emails I can read them now without having to shrink the font size back down. Every cloud has a silver lining.
Thank you to everyone who helped. This is such a helpful site I hope it lasts forever. Well, at least as long as I do! Thanks again.
