Here's the scoop.. Computer is on 24/7.. I'm running an Emachine.<slaps himself for buying one>.... After an evening of Civ3 I went to bed, computer still running. Next morning the PC was off. I tried to start it. The little orange light blinked at me once and that was it. Was that my PC's death rattle? I bought a new power supply. the exact same PS at the one the pc came with. I hooked it up as instructed. I hit start ''longing for some more Civ3" and once again the light blinked once and that's all. I had the pc hooked to a surge strip. that's fine.. all else on the strip work. Before this happened I did have a few reboot for no reason what so evers. Any idea what's going on. I'm thinking new PC time. But this ones maybe 7 months old. =(

Check the fan on the CPU. Make sure it's working or your cpu might be overheating.

Try replacing the old memory with some new memory.

Welcome to our corner of the board world. When you say. "The little orange light blinked at me once and that was it."

Do you mean that the machine died right then, no continuous blinking light, no fan noise? no nothing? Or did it hang right there and you manually shut it down?
