This was only thread I found that mentioned the current Zimmerman trial in Florida and didn't want to get it mangled up with the school / theater shootings.

In any case - been watching much of the coverage of this trial on HLN - basically gavel-to-gavel. Unless someone comes up with some incredible pictures of the actual shooting to dispute testimony up to this point - Mr. Zimmerman is walking - and the defense hasn't even started their case - and may not have to as the prosecution is doing it for them. I'm somewhat puzzled why this is even in trial. So far this appears to be a clear cut case of self defense.

    EDIT: add link http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...-witness-says-he-tried-to-stop-fight/2471949/

And if Trayvon felt so threatened why did he not get to his stepmom's house quick ? Precious Rachel Jeantel said Trayvon told her he was almost to the house. Both were idiots that night but if Trayvon had not had such a street thug mentality he would have been safe in the home.

So if even if Trayvon was a thug it doesn't have any thing to do with the case the case either.;)

The scream sounds like a young person not an adult man.

Zimmermann who is 5ft 8 and weighed 194 lbs could have defended himself against a slim boy of 5ft 11 weighing 158 lbs without shooting him. I imagine Trayvon felt threatened and he also has right to defend himself. Plus George has been MMA trained.

According to his brother's testimony he didn't want to believe this had happened to Trayvon and that is why he reacted that way.

As to his father. Women's hearing is more acute than men's.

Depends on whether judge allows the states lesser charges of manslaughter or aggravated assault to be considered in lieu of the 2nd degree murder which is charged and totally unproven. If lesser charges thrown out, he walks. If not, he'll get convicted of one of the lesser charges (I'd bet on aggravated assault - also unproven) with no jail time on probation.

IMHO this case should never have been tried under charges in state court. The only action should have been a wrongful death lawsuit by Martin's family in civil court - which I expect will happen regardless of this trials outcome.
