    Thanks for the nice comments.................

We actually have quite a few pairs of hummingbirds that winter on the farm. It's been that way for
at least 3 or 4 years and we make sure we always have a couple feeders out. I'm amazed at their strength and wonder
how they can survive the cold the way they do.
One pair that nests close to our house and one feeder usually has two clutches. It's always a hoot to watch the youngsters duke it out.
I saw the female the other day and she looked a bit bigger than normal so she just might be ready to lay some eggs.

Because of the way the weather is going the Lower Mainland of BC has become a mecca for hummingbirds to winter.
They're all over the place. All one has to do is stop on the side of the road near blackberry bushes and listen for
their little click letting you know they aren't happy.

Forest fire season is about to ramp up and ConAir is in the process of training / certifying their
pilots to be ready for the attack. Not only do they operate their very large fleet they do training and maintenance
for other companies / provinces and their aircraft.

Here's a couple shots over the last few days.....

    Howdie folks....

Here's two shots of a White-crowned Sparrows that have invaded my feeders in quite a large number.

I also forgot to post some American Goldfinch shots. These are repeat visitors from last year. I have a small flock of about 8 or so that came back this year.
