I had been to Burnaby lake many years ago but spent my time at the west end of the lake. I had now idea about Piper Spit until now
and I'm glad I heard about it.

I went yesterday ( Saturday ) and as we know the light wasn't that great. According to the weather forecast
it was supposed to clear but that didn't happen while I was there. Despite that I enjoyed my stay of about 1.5 hours
and managed to crack off a bunch of shots. Yes there were some shorebirds and that's what I primarily went for. That said
if they would have been awake while I was there that would have been a treat. I saw quite a few Long-billed Dowitcher's and two, yes two
    Pectoral Sandpiper's hiding among them.

If you're a Wood Duck fan, and who isn't, Piper Spit is for you. They are numerous and very
accustomed by humans being in the area so on a nice sunny afternoon you should enjoy yourself.

I have full intentions of going back during the week and in the afternoon when the sun is at my back.
I think there should be many good photo opportunities and I'm looking forward to it.

    Thanks for lookin'......
