Can anyone tell me if their is a safe software that I can run to check my computer to see if it's been hacked and to clean-up or uninstall any hacking malware? I now have Norton Security but wonder if it's doing the job.

There is nothing that we can recommend that would 100% be certain to detect any hacking but one of our Malware Specialists can give your computer a thorough cleaning.

Let me add this information for your review:
I'll try and make a long story short as I can. I use Thunderbird mail for different email address's that I have. One of my email address's was [email protected] (had been using it for years). Two days ago I get an email from Microsoft telling me my account was closed due to suspected faults tries to enter my account. I try to get in touch with Microsoft but you can forget getting help there. So, I get in touch with Thunderbird Support that tells me my live account has been RED FLAGGED because of an IP address in South Dakota was trying to use my email. So, they turn me over to their Hacker Division (which I had no idea they had). This guy from India (after entering my computer remotely) tells me my computer has been hacked but they can clean my machine in an hour but only if I buy Hacker protection from one of the of company's they list from $399 to $1000 a year. Now, red flags are going off in my head and I realize this has to be a scam, and trusting Thunderbird to enter my computer was a mistake. I hang up and find out they have turned off my Norton antivirus. I immediately turned it back on and called Norton. They ran a number of checks and programs and said my computer was okay. I'm still not sure everything was done to be sure my computer is safe. Can you help?

I have run scans and have log files for awsMBR & First64

Is that still an active email address? If so you should edit your post to delete it as spammers will harvest it. I assume it's one you've cancelled those unless you tell us otherwise.

I don't believe you can call Mozilla for help with Thunderbird so you likely found a scam telephone number.
