All of sudden our graphics guy is beginning to send us jpegs via email which come through with the top portion fine but then a series of vertical bands going from dark green (left) to pinks and purples (right)....any ideas what the problem is ? THanks
Thanks for helping out.
Scanned photos on his computer are resident in full
JPG in Outlook Express preview pane shows full picture.
Receiving computer Outlook Express preview pane shows half picture/half with vertical lines - although interestingly when saved to a folder, thumbnail shows full picture (when clicked and opened - it shows the half/half problem)
Photoshop 7
Windows 2000
Outlook Express
xgerryx. File size is less than 1MB
buck52. will try that (office doesn't open for two hours)
when I try to open the file in Photoshop, error message for jpg "incomplete or truncated"......any thought as to whether it is a virus or a problem with mail server ?
Maybe a bit of a long shot, but get him to check and see if Outlook Express is set to break apart large files:
On his computer:
On the Tools menu, click Accounts.
On either the Mail or News tab, click Properties.
On the Advanced tab, check to see if there is a setting to break apart files at a certain size.
If they have been split apart sometimes an antivirus program on the recieving computer can interfere with the images being rebuilt when they arrive.
