Okay. While playing, the game automatically shuts down itself. It tells me that a fatal error has occured. It asks me to run Dxdiag. So I ran it. Everything worked fine. When I tried to open the game again, it gave me this message.

If its not this message then it will be the one telling me that shaders\vsh.bin is corrupted and stuff. I've deleted and reinstalled the game numerous times. However, nothing seems to be working. Restarting the computer works for awhile. Then the game crashes. Can someone help me solve this problem?

Have you installed the latest drivers for your video card?

How do I check whether I have installed the lastest drives in my video card? And, if I do need an update, where do I get it from?

I would presume that my video card is up to date. I mean all the other games are working fine. Oh and one more error. Sometimes, while running the DxDiag, it tells me that an error has occured as it is unable to change the screen to 600x480x12 or something like that. However, after restarting my PC, that error does not occur.

Don't expect that its up to date, NVIDIA and ATI keeps releasing current drivers just like the lastest patches. Its helps to fix some bugs.

You need to know what video card are you using.

Oh. Okay. And by the way, why is it so that only this game, Halo, is affected? Other games with much better graphics work fine. And, what exactly is shaders? How do you check what type of video card you are using? Sorry, lil' blur here.

Go to Start--run and type "dxdiag" then it'll tell you.
Shaders are part of your video card pixel. But thats not enough to understand what it is.

Posting a DxDiag.txt using the Microsoft DirectX Diagnostic Tool
is a good way to show your video card and the drivers that it's using.

This is how to run the tool:

Start > Run... > dxdiag > OK > Save All Information...

Open the DxDiag.txt with Notepad and then copy and
paste the top 20% of the text file into your post.

    p.s.
You haven't said what "other" games you're playing,
so it's hard to say how they differ from Halo.

The easiest way to describe "shaders" would be to simply
think of them as the special effects of video games.
How much you see depends upon the type of video card you have.

This is what is written there. Umm, other games like NFSMW or MapleStory. I would think those games have much better graphics than Halo's graphics.

These drivers are either old beta drivers or old hacked drivers.
In any case, the very first step is installing proper current video card drivers.

Oh. But if I install ForceWare, will it affect the other games? (eg. NFSMW, Maple, Fifa) And, do I have to delete or do anything to my outdated video card?
