Could be a number of things. When did this start? Did it start happening after something on your computer changed? Hardware upgrade? New software?

To diagnose this I would:

1. Run a full virus scan.
2. Try a different browser like Firefox and see if it is also happening there.
3. Make sure I have the latest drivers for my video card, sound card, network card.
4. Download SPEEDFAN and check to see how hot my pc is running ... http://www.download.com/SpeedFan/3000-2094_4-10067444.html
5. Do a Windows Update and make sure I have all the latest critical updates for windows and IE.
6. Run memory diagnostics to check for a memory problem.
