harassing comments

    there is somebody who is leaving me harssing comments. i know their ip address. is there anyway i can get their location?

    You will get their approximate location, using ip locators.
    To get someone's home address is an entirely different matter, as this would involve their isp giving out their personal details.

    I don't know of an ISP that will give out such details without a court order.
    Another thing to think to think of is if they have a static ip (usually only dsl,cable etc) or a dynamic ip (usually dial-up) If they have a dynamic ip then every time they reconnect to the web, their ip will be different.

    ok. i got her IP address but its not the whole thing. here it is:
    67.125.228.* and 63.203.75.*

    also it says oakland when i input the addy. its either san jose or los angeles. i knwo that for a fact that it isnt oakland.

    Your going to need the whole IP to track that person down, those

    last digits could lead to MANY people.

    You can find the owner of the server and make a complaint to them.

    That will not give you the satisfaction of knowing exactly who it is; but, it will get them into trouble with their ISP and if you want to carry it further, the law.

    I used to know how to find the owner of an IP address; but, I have forgotten. I'll do some research.

    The owner of that IP block is Pac Bell. That will be the harrasser's ISP.

    Contact them for help.
