My hard disc is almost full so I uninstalled some programs and games, ran disc cleanup and defrag, and emptied the trash but it didn't free up any space. What's up?

Have you checked your temp folders for trash?

It's not "really" gone till you empty you recycle bin!

Do a search for ~tmp.* they I hear are safe to delete!

Symantecs....sheesh!! Your drive will continue to fill up and give you warnings if it is there right now and unless you uninstall some apps it will continue. If you can't do without anything that is on the drive it's time to get a larger one.

You read my mind. I have a 40 gb hard drive with only about 3: left, so last night I was surfing for a new one. I'm getting the 80GB Ultra ATA 100, 72000rpm, 8mb cache...

So if I get a larger drive, how do I get the data on my old one onto the new one?

Most new HDs come with a program that will let you copy everything, including the OS to your new HD.

If it doesn't, you can DL a trial version of Ghost I believe.

Thanks for the info. Which drives are the best deals and where is the best place to get them?
    Thanks
