What you have there (for the picture on the left) Is a sata port which consists of two connections. the smaller connection for the Data, the larger connection for the Power. If you were to connect this Hard Drive to your laptop with eSATA, you would need a converter that converts the sata connection to eSATA. (That is all you need, no extra software required.)

The drive has SATA ports. But if you want to connect it externally to a laptop with eSATA ports then you should get an eSATA enclosure like one of these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...37,542:392407&bop=And&Order=PRICE&PageSize=50

An enclosure will also come with a power adapter to power the drive, that's what the second port on the drive is.

You may want an enclosure that supports the faster SATA III or 6Gb/s interface to match the drive. You may also also want it to have a USB 3.0 port for greater compatibility as USB 2.0 and 3.0 are way more common than eSATA.
